About Upper Village Market

Upper Village Market is a gourmet grocery store. We are also a primary producer of Gift Basket Services in Whistler. Our focus is on products made locally, made in BC and Canada. We are located in Whistler's Upper Village and serve the local residents and tourist guests. We have been in business since 1994 and have a stellar reputation for quality and service. We operate 364 days a year and have a full time year round international staff.

Our retail space provides a great selection of fresh produce, cheese, breads, organic products, local artisan goods, groceries and souvenir items.

Locally Owned & Operated

Upper Village Market is locally owned and operated by longtime entrepreneur husband and wife team Rod & Tanya Goertzen. Twenty-five year residents of Whistler, they have 2 sons and are involved in the local community. Tanya Goertzen is an 15 year member of the Board of Directors of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.

Upper Village Market is a member of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers and the Retail Merchants of Canada.

Sustainability

Upper Village Market is committed to the goals of the Natural Step framework and works hard to ensure an environmental consciousness. Sustainability of our environment is a company goal. We leave a small footprint and recycle all papers and cardboard and purchase all post-consumer recycled products for our office use.
